Information About Report Subjects

When generating reports, we temporarily process publicly available information from sources such as public web pages, news articles, public government records, public company pages, and public social media profiles that are viewable without login. We do not require users to provide credentials to third-party services, and we do not bypass technical access controls.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Generate reports based on your queries
  • Send transactional communications (account confirmations, report delivery, billing)
  • Respond to your requests and support inquiries
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. What We Don't Do

To be clear about our practices:

  • No Profile Storage: We do not build or maintain persistent profiles about searched individuals. We do not create a database of people.
  • No Data Sales: We do not sell or license personal information to third parties.
  • No Advertising Sharing: We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • No Sensitive Inferences: We do not generate "risk scores" or inferences about political views, health status, or biometrics.
  • No Login-Walled Scraping: We do not access content that requires login credentials or bypass technical access controls.

4. Information Sharing

We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With vendors who help us operate our Service (hosting, payment processing, email delivery), under contracts requiring data protection.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate confidentiality protections.
  • With Your Consent: When you direct us to share information with a third party.

5. Data Retention

Ephemeral Report Processing: For each report request, we fetch public pages, extract relevant information, generate an overview, and return it to you. We do not retain the fetched content or generated report beyond short-lived technical needs (processing queue, temporary caching, debugging).

Account & Operational Data: We retain account information, billing records, and operational logs as long as your account is active and as required for legal, accounting, or audit purposes.

Security & Fraud Data: We may retain security-related data for fraud prevention and abuse detection purposes for a reasonable period.

6. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices

  • Account Information: You can update your account information or delete your account by contacting us at info@publicinfo.ai.
  • Marketing Communications: You can opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in any email or contacting us.
  • Cookies: You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may affect Service functionality.
